2014 Year's End

With New Years coming up, I wanted to take some time to reflect on my year and go over my goals for the upcoming year.  2014 was an amazing year, full of ups and downs for me. I have to say, though, there were far more ups than there were downs.  When I think about everything that happened over this last year, I can definitely say that I can see progress.

In July, my first short story was published by Paranormal Door Publishing. This was a huge step for me, and changed my life forever.  I have been writing for nearly twenty years, but this was my first step to doing what I love professionally.  It was the push I needed to begin preparing my books for publication as well.  Not to mention, it was the advice of my publisher that had me creating this web site and posting the web stories.

This year I have learned so much from many different people all over the world. I have also been very grateful to have worked with some amazing authors and editors. Social media provided me with a grand source of information through several groups such as Fiction Writers and Indie Author Groups. It was through these social groups that I have made many more contacts and gathered far more information on how to get published and spread the word.

Now that the year is coming to a close, I am anxious to see what the future holds. I plan to release five books in the coming year. (Knock on wood.) As well as continue on with my web story and other online interactions. This year looks to be very promising, and I cannot wait to see it all come together. I also plan to attend more conventions and meet more incredible people! 2015 is sure to be an amazing year. I hope all of you stick around for the ride! It is sure to be a fun one!

Happy New Year!

I Won NaNoWriMo!

I know I am a bit behind on my stories, but I have been working really hard to complete the November National Novel Writing Month Challenge. Updates on Not That Simple should return next week, however I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your support. I have completed the challenge of writing 50,000 words in the month of November My final total was 50,495. I am very proud of the work I have put into this novel. It was an emotional journey for me to write and I look forward to editing it and getting it out sometime in 2015.

Once again, thank you to all of my followers! Your support means the world to me!

The Nerd Cave Podcast

As I have mentioned before, I have just come home from an amazing convention called Fanaticon. It was a comic book, gaming, and all things geek convention where I put up a table for my books. It was an extraordinary experience for me that I will remember for the rest of my life. While there, I was interviewed by a group called The Nerd Cave. The guys were very nice and I enjoyed speaking with them. Below is the link for the podcast. I come at around 32 minutes in, however I encourage everyone to listen to the whole thing. It gives everyone an idea of what these sort of conventions are like and what to expect.

Fanaticon 2014

This weekend I was given the amazing opportunity to have a booth at a local comic book and gaming convention, Fanaticon 2014. Many of you have seen me post about it over the last couple of months, and I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience for me. Not only that, but the lovely Gabriella Dupree shared the table with me over the two day event.  We had a phenomenal time, and will cherish it always.
