Fanaticon 2014

This weekend I was given the amazing opportunity to have a booth at a local comic book and gaming convention, Fanaticon 2014. Many of you have seen me post about it over the last couple of months, and I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience for me. Not only that, but the lovely Gabriella Dupree shared the table with me over the two day event.  We had a phenomenal time, and will cherish it always.

As a Paranormal Romance/ Contemporary Romance author, I was extremely nervous about having a table at an event geared more toward comic books, gaming, and general "geek" culture, however, I wanted to support my local convention. Not to mention, my husband is a huge fan of Fanatix, the company that organized and sponsored the event. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

Not only was I able to sell a couple of books, but I had the opportunity to meet some amazing authors and aspiring writers who are all located here within my local area. We shared stories and advice on how to publish, write, and get our names out there. Jason Woodham, another author who had a table at Fanaticon, even hosted a panel talking about his journey as a small town writer. Though, I have to say, his book looks anything but small town. I cannot wait to crack it open!

Phil and Genie Chalker, the owners of Fanatix, put on a wonderful convention. Fanaticon celebrated its second year this year, and I have all the faith in the world that the convention is going to grow even larger next year. I also hope to have a larger table!

Below is a list of all the wonderful Artist, Writers, Actors, Crafters, and Groups that called Fanaticon home this year! Everyone I met was fantastic. Their work had pure heart and the individuals were welcoming and genuine. For my first convention experience, not just as a vender but as a person, I felt welcomed, appreciated, and learned a lot from those around me. It was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life and look forward to next year!
